INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Defenseman Kayle Doetzel has been reassigned by the Stockton Heat and will rejoin the Kansas City Mavericks, announced by the club’s AHL affiliate on Monday.
Doetzel, 22, had played in 23 games with the Mavericks, totaling two goals and six assists with six penalty minutes before being recalled by the Heat on December 11.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound defenseman has since played in three games with the Heat while supplying blue line depth for the AHL team.
Doetzel was signed by the Heat prior to the 2016-17 season and appeared in 56 games during his rookie campaign in the AHL.
The Mavericks return to action this weekend with games at Cincinnati and Toledo on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and will return home next weekend for a three-game series against the Toledo Walleye Jan. 19 through 21.
