Lamar Hunt, Jr. is the Owner of the Kansas City Mavericks professional hockey team. He is also founder of Loretto Properties, LLC, a real estate investment company specializing in the operation and management of residential properties, as well as Loretto Foundation, LLC, a private charitable organization. Brent recently completed his ninth season overseeing the day-to day operations of the Front Office and Hockey Operations of the Kansas City Mavericks. He has led the Mavericks since the beginning of the franchise and has led the team to four repeat Franchise of the Year awards. As he enters his 13th season working in professional hockey, he has won several awards including the Executive of the Year award three times (twice with the Mavericks), three time Corporate Sales Executive of the year winner, N.Thomas Berry Commitment Cup Winner for outstanding service and dedication to the league. Brent has won two championships, one with Colorado and one with Arizona. He has been involved in the start-up of three franchises from the beginning with Colorado, Arizona and Missouri.
His previous positions include the Director of Corporate Marketing for NHL's Florida Panthers, President of the Arizona Sundogs (CHL), and he the Vice President of the Colorado Eagles for two seasons. Brent is from Littleton, Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in finance. He currently resides in Grain Valley with his wife, Nicki, and their two daughters, Katie and Emma, and two sons, Alex and Andrew.
Todd came to the Mavericks having previously spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Northland Sports Alliance-- a local youth sports league. He recently completed his second season as the Vice President of Sales, after the past 5 years as Director of Corporate Sales for the Mavericks. In this capacity, Todd is responsible for overseeing all the Kansas City Mavericks sales initiatives. Todd hails from Kansas City, MO and attended Northwest Missouri State University and UMKC where he received degrees in Marketing and a Master’s in Business Administration. He currently resides in the Westwood Park area of Kansas City with his wife, Lauren and his loyal dog, Rockne.
Jaimie is from Blue Springs, MO, via Melbourne, Australia. She is has dual citizenship with half of her family being on the opposite side of the world. Jaimie received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Communication from Stephens College and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Stategic Leadership. During her undergrad, Jaimie was a dual-sport athlete as a member of the swimming and volleyball teams. She currently lives in the South Plaza area of Kansas City.
Alyssa enters her first season working in hockey with the 2018-19 campaign with the Mavericks. With a passion for sports in her blood, this will be Alyssa's fifth year working in professional sports. As a Southern California native who spent her youth growing up in Orange County, Alyssa has enjoyed contributing some West Coast flavor to her Midwest and Southern experiences. The KU grad joins the Mavericks after working with the Tampa Bay Rays' Double-A affiliate, the Montgomery Biscuits, in Alabama.
Steve is a native of Portland, OR and got his start in professional sports entrainment in 2006 with an exhibition game between the Seattle Mariners and the Triple-A Portland Beavers. Working in his home town, he spent three seasons as the Game Operations Manager for the WHL Portland Winterhawks, Game Day Director and Music Op for the Portland Timbers for ten seasons and worked in a similar role for the Triple-A Portland Beavers for six seasons until the team moved to California. He attended Portland State University where he studied Technical Theater and Video Production. He now calls Kansas City home and enjoys exploring his new neighborhood in the Plaza.
Zach joined the Mavericks in May 2015 as the Director of Finance. Originally from Kansas City, Zach graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in Finance and Real Estate. Zach completed the MBA program at UMKC’s Henry W. Bloch School of Management with an Entrepreneurship emphasis and Management emphasis. Prior to joining the Mavericks, Zach worked for AEG / Sprint Center in the Finance Department for seven years. Zach is a loyal Kansas City sports and Kansas Athletics fan. He also enjoys time with family/friends, fitness/recreation, cooking, live music, and enjoying Kansas City’s many attractions. Zach currently resides in Kansas City with his wife Leah.
Tim recently completed his third season with the Kansas City Mavericks, and first as the Director of Community Relations. Prior to joining the Mavericks, Tim served as the Coordinator of Community Outreach with the Lexington Legends (South Atlantic League, affiliate of the Kansas City Royals). Additionally, he brings experience in the Community Relations Departments of the Toronto Blue Jays Florida Operations, Kansas City Chiefs and Binghamton Senators (AHL). Tim is from Binghamton, NY, and graduated from Temple University with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management. Tim enjoys supporting the country music career of his brother, Frank Vieira.
Lydia joins the Kansas City Mavericks for her third season with the team and first in the front office. Prior to this season, she worked with the game day staff, was a sideline reporter for the televised games and was the in-game host for the 2017-18 season. Lydia is a graduate of KU where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis on strategic communications, along with a minor in leadership studies. She also works for the Kansas City Royals where she anchors their pregame show, Royals Countdown. Lydia lives in Overland Park, Kansas with her chocolate lab, Champ.
A Missouri native and graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Laura started her career in ticketing when she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began selling tickets at the Bridgestone Arena box office. She managed ticketing for the CMA Music Festival for four years before returning to the Kansas City area and continued box office management at the Midland Theatre and as the Director of Inventory Management with the Kansas City Broadway Series. Laura loves all things Kansas City—from the food to the sports to exploring all the unique neighborhoods, including where she resides in West Plaza.
Chris recenetly completed his ninth season with the Mavericks. He has previously worked for the Comets (MISL) and the Blades of the old International Hockey League. He also worked two seasons with the Kansas City Brigade. Chris is originally from Akron, Ohio and earned his degree at the University of Akron. He lists his favorite team as the Denver Broncos of which he is a current season ticket holder. He currently resides in the Northland and likes golf, bowling, chess and traveling.
Matt Magana was raised in Bolivar, Mo. Following high school, he attend the University of Missouri, where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in Sport Management. Magana started working in sports in college, where he worked for Mizzou Athletics and has since worked for the Philadelphia 76ers and Sporting Kansas City. He has served in the Missouri Army National Guard for 7 years and returned home from deployment in December of 2017.
Elijah has called Missouri home all his life, attending the University of Missouri where he earned his bachelor's degree. Elijah joins the Mavericks after a stint with the Kansas City Royals' inside sales department.
Kolby was born and raised in Southwest Missouri. After graduating from Bolivar High School, he continued his education at Florida International University. While at FIU, he was a part of two internships within the athletic department and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. He also played for the FIU Panthers baseball team. Before joining the Mavericks, he was a part of the Midwest Nationals Baseball Organization in Springfield, Missouri. Kolby currently resides in Raytown, Missouri. When Kolby isn’t in the pool, he enjoys golfing, watching sports and sitting by a bonfire with friends.
Kara McAfee is a native of Suwanee, Georgia, who moved to Missouri in 2011 for a nanny position. Since then, she has loved getting to know the sport of hockey and working in the Team Store. She feels very blessed to have met some of her best friends through the wonderful family of the Orange Army. When she’s not cheering on her favorite KC teams, she loves to spend time trying new things and traveling to new places and to visit family.
